Gas condensing boilers work by using as much of the heat energy produced as possible. Whereas in a conventional atmospheric boiler the flue gases are released into the field without any additional processes, losing heat, in a gas condensing boiler they are first injected into a heat exchanger and then transferred to the heating system or used to produce hot water. This system has a much higher efficiency (up to 15%) and the flue gas temperature is much lower - plastic flues can be installed.
