Multifunctional water storage tanks

Multi-purpose tanks are used to store heat for the heating system, as well as to prepare hot water by combining a hot water boiler and a storage tank in one tank. The multi-function tank saves space that would otherwise be occupied by a separate hot water boiler and storage tank.

Hot water can be prepared in the multi-function tank in two ways: by heating and storing it in a smaller enamelled tank integrated in the tank itself, or by using a stainless steel instantaneous water heater, resulting in always fresh hot water. In both cases, the multi-purpose tank itself must be heated to be able to produce hot water.

Often, in combination with the instantaneous heat exchanger or the integrated tank, the multi-purpose tanks also integrate heating system heat exchangers, which allow hot water and heating to be provided by additional heating sources, including solar collectors or heat pumps.
