How to choose the most suitable My-PV system for you?

Solar energy is valuable! This is particularly important today, when rapidly rising electricity costs are putting constant pressure on household budgets. This raises the question: what to do with the electricity that is produced but not needed and would otherwise be fed into the grid?
In our opinion, it is not difficult to decide whether it would be more profitable to sell it for a few cents per kilowatt-hour or convert it into usable heat energy. Heat is often generated using equipment that has become more expensive to operate due to rising energy prices, so it is worth looking into how to use solar energy for heat generation.
Get more out of your existing solar panel system!
If you want to use solar energy for heating your home, you first need to know whether your hot water or storage tank already has a heating element installed. To be compatible with solar energy systems, this element simply needs to be continuously controllable or modulatable.
If such a heating element is already installed, you will need a My-PV AC•THOR for smaller systems (up to 3 kW) or an AC•THOR 9s for larger systems (up to 9 kW). Both devices can communicate with existing heating elements or electric hot water boilers, so existing equipment can continue to be used - there is no need to replace the entire system.
If a heating element is not installed or is not suitable, then AC ELWA 2 is the ideal solution. It allows solar energy to be converted into heat using a single device that combines a heating element and an energy manager in one solution.
In both cases, solar energy can be used for heating as well as other consumption purposes – household consumption, battery charging or electromobility – all in one solar panel system.
Don't want to be dependent on the public electricity grid?
For those who want to heat water independently of the public grid, my-PV offers two cost-effective solutions – My-PV ELWA and SOL• THOR, which allow you to prepare hot water autonomously using solar energy, do not require an inverter and use all the electricity generated solely for heating (rather than for general household consumption such as lighting, household appliances, etc.).
ELWA is the ideal solution for simple conversions or for using solar energy while optimising costs. Just a few solar panels on the roof will provide the necessary energy, which ELWA will then convert into hot water. However, if your heating system already has a heating element, SOL•THOR offers a particularly economical conversion option that can be connected directly to the existing heating element and controlled according to the power generated by solar energy. The SOL•THOR control unit can also be connected to an existing electric boiler to achieve additional cost savings.
