Composition

The basic component of EKOFRITHERM is propylene glycol. The fluid contains a carefully developed corrosion inhibitor complex for the protection of steel, cast iron, copper, brass and solder surfaces. The heat transfer fluid also contains substances that protect propylene glycol from overheating and oxidation (BASF Group product), prevent the formation of blisters and the degradation of seals (rubber, Teflon, paronite). EKOFRITHERM is produced on a specially purified water base with reduced hardness, which increases the stability of the heat transfer medium.

Preparation of the heating or air-conditioning system for filling with the heat transfer medium

In order for a heating or air-conditioning system with EKOFRITHERM heat transfer medium to operate long and trouble-free, it is necessary to prepare the system before filling. The system must be tested: at temperatures > 0 °C with water and at temperatures < 0 °C with antifreeze. If non-hermetic elements are detected, the water or antifreeze shall be drained from the system, the problem corrected and the test repeated. In the case of filling an old system with a heat transfer medium, the system shall first be rinsed with a surface cleaning fluid.

Storage of the heat transfer medium

The heat transfer medium must be stored out of the reach of children in a tightly closed container. It must not be stored with foodstuffs. Keep away from flame. Do not smoke in the vicinity.
