Find out how My-PV can harness almost all the energy produced by the sun!
By integrating an AC ELWA 2 smart solar heating element with two AC ELWA-E solar heating elements, a household in Vöru, Estonia was able to achieve an almost unbelievable 98% solar self-consumption.
Thanks to climate change and advances in solar panel technology (which also reduce costs), solar panels for electricity generation have become an efficient and sought-after energy source in the Baltic States as well. The owner of this house experienced this first-hand when his solar panel system fed much of the electricity it produced into the grid - the household's self-consumption was much lower than the energy produced by the panels.
In Estonia, just like in Latvia, it is not profitable to transfer the excess electricity generated to the common grid. To solve this problem, the homeowner chose to use My-PV solar heating elements - an AC ELWA 2 smart heating element which also acts as the main control source, and two AC ELWA-E solar heating elements (three heating elements in total, each fed by its own phase voltage), combined with a Wifi Meter data meter to transfer the excess energy to an 1800L multifunctional tank. This system helps to prepare both hot water and heating support, especially in the off-season.
The results of the My-PV performance are evident: in April 2024, 98% solar self-consumption was achieved with these devices.
